Baby Man

Someone had a really great time taking the couch cushions off for some spring cleaning. And I'm pretty sure he ate a smashed raisin he found under the cushions 'cause when I went to vacuum it up, it was gone. Watching Connor jump on the couch and crack himself up when he gets so much air, might be the best thing in the whole wide world.

ConnoRoo

Internet, I just wanted to tell you that this week Baby Connor has started pointing a little. On purpose. And he's sharing bites of food with me. On purpose. And he showed me his ears and nose. And signed for more nuts, and stayed next to me while walking outside and didn't run away. He's had 2 clusters of tonic spasms this week and a couple absence seizures, but not too many, and not too intense. He's also pulling food down off the counter deliberately so he can eat it, and not just dropping it to the ground and letting it spill all over. It's pretty cool.

Miss Katie

Dear Miss Katie's Secret Admirer,

You are so cute and we just love you. Thank you for bringing Katie so many fun things over the last 10 days. What a pleasant surprise it's been for her to get some extra attention. I'm assuming whoever you are, that you know she's needed a lot of special attention lately. I'm happy to report that she's been doing fantastic! I was gone all last week, and she only had to have a lunch visit ONCE from grandma and was fine the rest of the week. She told me yesterday that she doesn't need any more lunch visits from me and I'm expecting she'll still feel that way tomorrow. I think she's felt extra love all around the last couple weeks, so Thank you, for contributing to that. I have a hunch or two who you might be, but I know you're not coming clean. And you have to know that out of everything fun in the world, Katie likes getting little presents most of all. She is a present/surprise kind of person all the way. So your show of love is right up her alley. Thank you. We love you.

Today Katie turned in her first big project of her elementary school career. She had to make a book of at least 10 jokes...complete with illustrations. She worked very hard on this over the last few weeks. She did some of the pages on the computer, and some of them by hand. Here are a couple of her computer illustrations. They are darling and I'm very proud of her hard work...with, seriously, almost ZERO help from me:

Baby Man

Today the most gorgeous person in the world turns 3. He got special vegan treats from Aunt Vicki and an awesome truck from Danny...a toy he's acutally PLAYING with. It's a birthday miracle. He even had cookies for breakfast and a special surprise visit from DADDY!!! I know every parent thinks they love their child more than anyone has ever loved a child, but for us, that's actually true. There are no words to express what we feel for Baby Connor. Happy birthday, Bubs. We are forever in love with you.

Broken Bells

If you don't know what Broken Bells is, it's the new project by James Mercer and Danger Mouse. And if you don't know who James Mercer is, he's the singer from The Shins. And if you don't know who The Shins are, you've been living under a rock. Just kidding. You're not living under a rock. But the album is fantastic. I really love it and it's on heavy rotation over here. (It must be something to get Habits out of the disc player.) I'd like to say that it's great, but not as great as The Shins, only because The Shins hold a special place in my heart since a sweet high school friend, Marty Crandall, played bass for them. But I can't. I think it's even more awesome than any Shins record, and you might too.

Happy release day everyone! I was just checking the top 10 alternative albums on iTunes today and Habits is all the way up to #5. I'm freaking out a little 'cause I never expected it would debut so high up on the charts, but Bdog gave me permission to freak out so I'm gonna go have a little dance party and some hollerin' now. Called To Serve

And the winner is...Sierra Leone. My rents are leaving on a mission on June 14th to Sierra Leone. That's pretty insane and it hasn't really sunk in yet. I'm really excited for them and proud and anxious. My mom is already nervous about the food :) They got their call in the mail yesterday and hopped in their car and drove all the way up here from LV to open it. So awesome.

I won't post any pics of the happy tears.

New Baby

The newest addition to our family arrived today. After our 2 year pregnancy it was quite a relief that it came earlier than expected. At 8:30 a.m. a big truck dropped off 1,000 copies of this:

Neon Trees Update

Set your TiVo's. Neon Trees will be on MTV this Wed. and Sat. as part of "10 Artists To Watch In 2010". I don't know what time it will be on in your city, you'll have to check your TV sched but it will be sometime in the morning. Someone please record it so I can see it :)

Also, if you don't already know, Habits will be out on March 16 everywhere.

And, there will be a listening party here in UT at Velour on March 12 before it comes out. You can listen to the CD, the band will play it live, but no, you can't buy the CD there.

Also, you can watch them on Jimmy Kimmel Live March 23. (See you there!)

And, they will be playing SXSW this year and I'm super bummed that I won't be there. But if you can go, you should. They are playing many times that week.

Then, they leave on tour with 30 Seconds To Mars and Mute Math for a while. The first show of the tour is in LV April 9 at The Pearl inside The Palms. See you there!
